In a small English village, circa 1952, a young farm girl sees a painting of the sea in a shop window, and falls in love with it.
Her efforts to buy it lead to an unforeseen and heart-warming encounter with a famous artist.
This is a story about the inspirational power of art, and an act of kindness and generosity.
Ian is a multi-award winning actor, singer and musician who has worked extensively in Theatre, Television, Radio and Film.
Onstage he has worked at the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, in London's West End, in fringe and regional theatres across the UK, and theatres in the US, Japan, Australia, Ireland, Malaysia, and China.
His television work includes; Endeavour, Marcella, Spooks, Florence Nightingale, Coronation Street, DCI Banks, Harry, New Tricks, Minder, Bergerac, Rock Follies, The Professionals, Darling Buds of May and many more.
Film performances include: Wonka, Operation Fortune, Max and Helen, Eisenstein and Prayer for the Dying.
THE SEA is the first film Ian has written, or directed.
