Film Open-Mic

Our Film Open-Mic offers a fantastic platform for filmmakers to showcase their work in a non-competitive environment. Enjoy one of Ollie Vees' famous (non-alcoholic) cocktails or a hot drink while watching a surprising selection of short films by local filmmakers. You'll have the chance to ask the filmmakers questions and get inspired by independent films. A perfect way to spend your Sunday afternoon.

All films will be chosen based on the order in which they are submitted (first come, first served). 

Filmmakers present their films and have the chance to discuss their creations with the audience and other filmmakers. Whether seasoned industry professionals or newcomers, everyone brings their own short films, enriching the event with a diverse and captivating array of cinema. With such a wide range of new films being shown, the event truly represents the current output of the indie filmmaking community.

RULES

• Filmmakers are required to get a free submission ticket before submitting their film.  AFTER GETTING A SUBMISSION TICKET, YOU WILL RECEIVE A TICKET WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING YOUR FILM. The instructions are written on your ticket.
• Only one film per filmmaker per Film Open-Mic is allowed.
• Films of all genres are welcome.
• Pilots and try-outs are welcome - we expect a coherent and well-edited piece.
• A representative from each film must attend the screening to introduce it. Without the representative, the film will not be screened, and the spot will be passed on to the next person in line.
• Films under 7 minutes will be automatically accepted based on the order of submission.
• Films ranging from 7 to 10 minutes will be considered, but preference is given to shorter films. However, if you have a longer, high-quality short film, please contact us to discuss the possibility of screening.
• Confirmation of your place at the screening will be provided upon receipt of your film and acknowledgement from us - this differs from your ticket.
• If your film cannot be accommodated in the current schedule, we may offer to screen it at the next event.
• Films not in an acceptable file format, preferably MP4, may be rejected.
• The filmmaker certifies that they hold all necessary rights for this film/video submission and that all rights and clearances have been made. This film is not subject to any litigation, nor is it threatened by any litigation.
• We do not tolerate films with racist, discriminatory or sexist undertones that don't have the right intentions within the film.
• The final decision on screening any film rests with Buzz Cinema
